South Shore Transition House (Harbour House)

Harbour House offers shelter services and counseling to women as they transition and explore options for their lives, as well as Outreach services to women, and youth. Their mission is to empower women, offer safety, comfort and hope, support and educate the community and to promote equality on the South Shore. Harbour House provides, operates and maintains safe temporary housing for women who are victims of abuse, and for their children.

IN SHELTER: Fifteen (15) bed transition house; Safe shelter; Six (6) week stay; Compassionate and healing atmosphere; Supportive counselling; Referrals; Information sessions; Safety planning; Advocacy; Assistance with emergency protection orders and peace bonds;

OUTREACH SERVICES: Counselling; Meeting accompaniment; Public education; Women’s support groups; Follow up; Promotes healthy communities);

YOUTH SERVICES: Public education; Classroom presentations on healthy relationships, dating violence,  & consent; Girls groups; Counselling and outreach support; In-House Childcare and support.

PARTICIPANT INCLUSION: Trans and cis women 16+, Children with guardian, & youth.
